Installion Nightmare, Please HELP!

Hello,
I'm just installing the new Sadoun Satellite System Fortec Star DVB-786NA, and i'm having a lot of trouble trying to setup the signal. I installed my dish and my receiver correctly. There is nothing in the way of the Satellite signal path. I can't get any signal or quality. And then i did get some, it was a steady signal at around 38-39. Then i went and disconnected the cable from the dish and the signal was still at the same rate? I am confused. And now everything is still hooked up, but i'm not getting a signal at all. When i "START" the channel search, i don't get a single channel. Please Please help me, i'm in desperate need. This makes no sense to me. I can't figure out how to go a decent signal. Any help would be very appreciated, thanks in advance! Have a nice day, hopefully better than on one i'm having!j

Sincerely,
Mike

It sounds like your dish is not aligned correctly. Please follow the step by step procedure here:

Thank you

Thank you Sadoun, hopefully this will work for me. I had a signal of 50-55% then now i have no signal. And sometimes, i have a signal of 50% then when i unplug the cable from the dish the signal is still at 50-53%, why is that? Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,
Mike

Basically, the receiver is picking electromagnetic noise signals. The sky is full with satellites. When you are pointing at the correct satellite, the signal strength and quality bars will turn GREEN in color, indicating your are on the correct satellite.
