Dish Install

This is my first time doing an install and I am finding the initial setup a bit confusing after reading several articles on different websites. I live on Vancouver Island BC and am attempting to install a Horizon 75cm dish with a HH100 rotor and a Ariza 1000 TP receiver using the Diseqc 1.2 protocol. According to the Sadoun calculation webpage my Azimuth should be 180 degrees - P degree should be 34 - LBNF should be 0. I think I've got that right. The first thing I am supposed to do is set the motor elevation to 48.4 which I did and then the dish elevation to 22.8. Is the next step to align to true south - for me that should be 158 degrees or is it magnetic south. Then my installation manual says to go to the satellite that is closest to my longitude - 123 degrees. How do I figure that and could you help me understand the difference between transponders and satellites, I have 28 satellites preset into my receiver but am not sure how to pick them up after I have set the dish to true south. Do I need to enter the data into the receiver or should it do it automatically. Thanks for your help I will probably need more knowing me. It says the install should take 20 minutes - yea right with a USAL setup maybe.

Re: Dish Install

1. H-H elevation = your Lat
2. Dish Elevation = P - (60 - Lat)
P = http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Installati...ion-Angles.htm
3. Your truesouth is the one located at your Long.
4. Azimuth of your truesouth = 180 +/- magnetic deviation.
