Constant Strength, but varying Quality

for telestar 5, TP5 Freq=11836 sumb=20765 Vertical
BEC 6600+ CI 76cm and DVB321-SB lnbf.

I always get strength that stays at 89 but the quality keeps changing between 30-60 with some spikes to 97. I just sit and watch the quality of the signal change ever second withour changing any thing in the system. Why does the quality keep changing?

Quality will vary depending on many factors; but for yours to "spike" to 97 from 30-60 is kind of weird. As long as you have a stable picture I wouldn't worry about it.

I suggest you do some reading in this forum. There are many threads dealing with "no signal" issues. Check them out... Here's one ---> http://sadoun.com/Forum/phpBB2/viewt...bd95b 9f4d08d

With the BEC-6600 receiver, you know you have hit the right satellite when the signal and quality bars turn from white to yellow. The BEC is unusual in that it will indicate quality (in white) even if you are on the wrong satellite; look for the change to yellow and you'll know you're on T5.
