Sorry, but still haven't got it right

I have an sg 2100 with 30" dish. I have logged more than a week setting it up and tracking it. So far I haven't found g3c which according to my longitude of around 94 should be my true south sat. Do I find this sat by putting and keeping the motor at 0 position and moving the dish elevation up and down while turning the complete dish mount east and west on the pole until I get a good signal? Is this the proper way to find it? If so that is something I haven't tried to yet. When I install g3c the receiver automatically moves the motor a degree or 2 past 0 on the motor. I have been trying to find it from that pos. I also have one of those cheapie inline signal meters which should help a little. So far I have locked on and stored amc 9, amc 3, galaxy 11, T6, T5, amc 4, amc 1, and g10r. Haven't had much luck with finding the sats between these. Should I just start over? Could I still not be on the arc correctly? I have been reading through the forums quite a bit but still haven't come to grasps on how to find my true south sat the proper way. I hope this will clear it up once and for all.

Don't Give up...

My guess is that your mount is not perfectly level on 3 sides. Have you allowed for magnetic dieveation at you your location. I had trouble the first time is set my dish up a few weeks ago. Now i'm a 'old pro'. LOL

If you give me the zip code, I am happy to verify you math...

Latitude. 33°26'N. Longitude. 94°07'W. That is my exact location.
Zip=75569 or Nash, Texas.
My latitude on the motor is set at 33 degrees. I put a bubble level on top of pole , bubble is sitting in perfect center. Do I find g3c from the 0 location on the motor or can it be a degree or 2 from 0?

Use USALS to move the dish to G3C. Then try to get lock on it.

I don't have USUALS anymore.

First I had an ultra but was having such problems with it and sg2100 motor so I got rid of it only to get a Satwork 3688 which equates to about 10 times the problems I had with the ultra, lol. It seems I can't win, lol. But anyway I positioned the motor to the 0 location and did a blind search of the sat. It's G11. Does that mean that I need to swing my dish around the pole towards the east now? Keep in mind that I'm getting the above sats locked in from this pos that I'm at now. The ? is, is my true south off? g11 is 4 degrees east of my longitude. I'm really confused now.

Now I feel really sorry for you. Even though the ULTRA may have some issues with the SG2100, but it is by far way better than the SATWORK 3688. Even after the Satwork went through 20+ software upgrades. Give me a break.

I agree 100%

I purchased the ultra from ebay. The seller let me send it back to him in exchange for a 3688 and some of my money back. I'm living and learning the hard way. Being new to this fta, I didn't know better at the time but I do now. So right now this is what I'm stuck with. The 3688 sux big time but I still need to get this thing tracked and get a better receiver later on.
