Re: trying to get amc 4

Move your dish approximately 4 degs to the West, dish elevation needs to be adjusted up/down few degs depending where you live.
Check out the link below for Dish elevation:

If you've been doing DBS for awhile - AMC4 is parked exactly where DirecTV's main bird is -- 101 degrees west. If you have a DTV dish mounted near where you are putting the FTA dish for AMC4 - just eyeball the azimuth relative to your DTV dish - elevation will be the same too.

Set up your receiver for this transponder:

tp 6
freq = 11,822 MHz
polarity = HOR
symbol rate = 05700

Its a fairly strong transponder.

kat

Also make sure your receiver is configured for the type of LNB you have:

universal -- L.O. freq = 10,600 MHz
standard -- L.O. freq = 10,750 MHz

i have read some where that said you don't have to move your dish (with T5 setting), just tie up another lnbf to the existing lnbf to receive AMC4. is this can be done? Thanks

Yes, its possible; if the dish is big enough. T5 and AMC4 are only 4 degrees apart.

Hi,

Do you have any link to the information about getting two birds with the same dish? For instance, like how big the dish has to be?

Thanks

Well, it depends on your location within the footprints of the birds you want; but usually a 33" dish or even a 30" will be big enough.
