Diseqc switch question

Is it possible to Slave more than one Diseqc switch together. Much like the DISHPro Switches can be done with DISH Network. I only have a 4 to 1 Diseqc switch at the moment but was curious if anyone has tried to hook more than one up.

If I was smart i'd just hook up a H-H motor but I have all these old PrimeStar dishes that didn't cost me a thing such a shame not to use them got 4 hooked up now. the neighborhood is now calling me the NASA house.

Re: Diseqc switch question

You can't slave 2 Diseqc switches to each other. If you have more than 4 lnbfs, you can use these combinations below:
1. 2 Diseqc 4 ways, 1 22khz: up to 8 lnbfs.
2. 2 Diseqc 4 ways, 1 0/12v: up to 8 lnbf. YOu need to run 2 cables to your house since the 0/12v need to be place close to the receiver.
3. 2 Diseqc 4 ways, 1 22khz and 1 0/12v: up to 16 lnbfs.
Check out your receiver to see what kind of switch it supports.

H-H mount is a bit tricky to set up, but doable. Most of us here install it by ourself.

Re: Diseqc switch question

Option # 1

So if I am understanding correctly I can use 2 - 4 to 1(4way) Diseqc into 1 22Khz switch.

Is a 22Khz the same animal as that DirecTv uses to split a dual lnb into say 4 receivers. I know they use the 22Khz to operate and I have an extra one of those laying around could I hook one of the diseqc switches to the 13v input and the other to the 18v input of that switch an obtain the same result (only using 1 of the outputs from the 22Khz switch) or is the22Khz switch you mentioned have 2 inputs and 1 output

I only have one FTA receiver in the house and it is a Sat Cruiser 101 Plus

thanks in advacne

Yes, Directv uses 22khz tone to control the switch. You can try to see if it works.
