First T5 Install next week!

I have the above job to install next week here in MN. I use a Digisat2 and was wondering if this will work to point the dish. Any tricks or tips? I have all the correct look angles thanks to Sadouns web site, but I am starting to wonder about the Digisat2! Will it work? Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the forum.

The Digisat will work just fine. This is the same as our Acutrac22 signal meter: http://sadoun.com/Sat/Products/Acces...Accutrac22.htm

Once you point your dish in the approximate direction, use the meter along with your receiver and TV to peak the signal strength and quality.

Watch out for DirecTV satellite on 101W. It has a strong signal (100W) compared to the weaker T5. It could trick you!. If you notice the signal meter going through the roof, but no quality on your screen, turn the dish about 4 degrees to the left (EAST).

The secret to a fast dish alignment is a "100% Vertical mast".

Good Luck!

Got It!!!!!!

Thanks for the help, I got the above install done with few problems, I pointed the dish at the correct look angles, used the digisat to roughly line up dish, but then had to refer to the on screen signal display to fine tune it, I ended up with quality and signal of about 85. Then I went through the easy to follow set up menu, and BANG! What a product, I will just have to get myself one of these setups, not just to practice the pointing but the channels that can be picked up are amazing! THANKS for all the Help!
