Westcoaster is on a distinguished road
Correct coax for FTA receivers and dishes

I have had a Pansat 300A now for about 1 year and I have yet to get a strong enough signal.

I'm using RG-59 coax (this was provided by the company I bought the system from). Is this the right coax or should I be using RG-6? :?

Any help would be appreciated!

RG59 should not be used for satellite signal. It is ok to use it if your LNBF is with 20-30 feet from your receiver. However, by all means, RG6 should be used instead. The core of RG6 is much bigger creating less resistance for the signal to pass through the line to the receiver.
