ONE satellite- TWO receivers(FTA/Dish Network)
Hi:
My HOA do not allow me to have more than one DISH. I just bought Fortec ULTRA, and I have a Dish network. What do I need so I can receive FTA and scrambled Dishnet with one Satellite Dish + Fortec receiver+ Dish network receiver. Note that both will be used mainly to view Arabic channels.

Setup
If you're only allow to have one dish, attach a DBS LNBF aside of the KU LNBF on your 30 inch dish and buy a motor. Use a 2X1 DISEQC switch and run the cables to the switch then to the receiver.

Thanks for your reply:
I looked at the Disceqc switch on sadoum's web, and it is for 2 dishes toward one receiver. Rather the perfect vision PVMS-4EP might be more appropriate, since it shows one dish (with 2 cables) and up to 4 receiver. Am I right?.
Also you mentioned attaching a DBS LNBF aside of the KU LNBF on 30 inch. I am not very familiar with the terms but looking at the web, the LNBF from dish network and FORTEC ULTRA seems to be both Ku band. Am I right? So I guess what you are saying is to clip LNBF from dish network onto LNBF from FORTEC on FORTEC 31" Dish. Is this right.
Thanks again, your help is greatly apreciated.

What Elam said is you can set up a 30 or 36" dish with Diseqc h-h mount, the attach a DishNetwork lnbf next to the center one, use DVB receiver to move the dish from sat to sat. Picture below:

Thanks.
Now I understand. The Disceq 2x1 switch will be used for the motor to point to either echostar or other FTA satellites. I will need the IF OUTPUT from Fortec ULTRAto connect it to sat input of dishnetwork receiver, so when I need to watch scrambeled channels on dishnetwork, I will use FORTEC ULTRA to point to echostar, then go to dishnetwork receiver, right?.
Another question : In order to stick Dishnetwork LNBF to FSLNBF, Sadoum uses plastic clips. Is this solid enough to hold it and is there anything else I can use or buy to hold 2 LNBF?
Thanks

I use plastic clip, not problem at all. For your setup, I recommend to get a dual directv/dishnetwork lnbf. One out put to Diseqc 2 ways or 4 way for your DVB receiver, the other output for your Sub DishNet receiver. You need to run another cable to your house for your sub receiver. Setting up this way, both DVB and DN receiver operate independently, no need to worry about controlling polarity.

What is the advantage of using a 36" Dish compare to a 30" Dish in this situation?
Also is there an advantage of using USAL compare to Disceq 1.2 and is it possible in this DBSS/DVB config since using a Disceq 2x1 switch?
Thanks for your reply.

1. As usual, the bigger the better...:-). Bigger dish will get you more gain. When it rains hard, smaller dish might face "rain-fade" problem.
2. USALS (aka Diseqc 1.3) is a neat feature. It will automatically find satellite position for you base on your Lat/Long (you still need to get lock on your truesouth sat first). In contrast, using Diseqc 1.2 you have to move the dish and store the satellite position manually.

Concerning 2. if I use a switch diseqc 2x1( which I guess use version 1.2) to connect the 2 LNBF (for DN & FS) will I be able to use the USAL feature with it?
Thanks
