Dish mounting Question

When I get my new 90cm dish and Lifetime Ultra, I will need to mount the dish on my roof. I had thought I might mount it above my direct dish on the chimney (the back side sits at exactly 180 degrees). I am concerned that it might interfere with the DirecTV reception. I do have an extra J-tube wall mount that can with my new DirecTV dish. I would be concerned that it would not be strong enough.

My other idea was to use a non penetrating mount http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Products/I...roof-mount.htm

Would this mount work ok with the 90cmU-mount and hh120 motor?

Any other suggestions?

As always, everyone’s ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You can mount both dishes on the chimney - this is preferable to any type of roof mount. Just make sure the 90 cm dish does not block signal to the DirecTV dish - remember that the elevation angle the dish appears to be aliming at is not its true elevation - the LNB is offset - so leave lots of room above it when mounting the 90 cm dish, assuming you mount the 90 cm dish above the DirecTV one. Do not use the J-tube from a DirecTV dish - it likely is not strong enough to support the higher windloads of the 90 cm dish, especially if you will have a motor as well. The signals will not interfere with one another.

Also, when choosing a mounting point on the chimney for the Fortec 90 cm dish, make sure there is enough room to attach the stabilizer bars - at least one of them. Assuming the Fortec dishes use stabilizer bars; I think they do.

Kat, Knowing that, what kind of chimney mount would you suggest? A little corner mount would not be strong enough?

Thanks Jim

What I usually do (actually what I always do, who am I kidding?) is attach the foot directly into the brick using Tapcon masonry screws. Of course, that is under the assumption that you have a brick chimney.

Where can I fine a mount as you discribed above.

Jamal, is a wall mount included with the 90CM dish. If not do you sell them?

You don't need any mount - just attach the foot directly to the brick; the foot comes with the dish package.
