Trouble with AMC 8 C-band Mpeg2

Help! this Sat is driving me crazy , just cannot Locate it .
I have located a ton of Satellites from AMC3 all the way up to AMC7
Please Note I have only been useing this Rig for 2weeks , so I am New .
But have setup up the entire Thing myself, including digging the hole and cementing inthe Pole . was all pretty easy until amc8 gave me grief .

first my setup is :
old Orbitron 10' dish , Chaparral RS10 analog receiver , Pansat 330A mpeg2 , older Chaparral Cband feed w/servo, a older Chaparral 25k LNB commercial . setup is slaved so Analog is Master . a Tech tld me the LNB is a very good one, and so Far this has been true Picture quality is excelent on Both analog and the DVB .

amc7 comes in very strong 98 percent Qaulity
Other Sats very simular

AMC 8 is only 2 degrees away , according to Footprint it is the same as
AMC7 for my location 32

looking at my analog Reciever Sats, 2 degrees are 20 on my motor count .
example satcom C4 is 5518 and AMC7 5537 .

so I set motor to about 20 away for amc8 going west 5558.

I look at my signal i get 70 on signal to noise but only 10 on qaulity , so no lock . I have tried various Polarity setting but still nothing , changing channels on the analog from H to V Pol. all it wil do is change from 52 signal to 70 , but qaulity will not jump up like Other Sats.

I have try jogging back and forth up to 10 counts both ways still nothing .

I have set the TP's according to Lyngsat and SatcoDx

Maybe I should ask, Can anyone Here Catch AMC 8
Is it up There ?

Thankyou for any Suggestions , realy appreciate !

Yes, it's up there. I had some problems with the freqs. I had to lower them all from what is listed on Lyngsat's website. This may be because of my c-band lnb or the freq settings themselves, i don't know.

What i did was lower the freqs by 1-2 MHz 'til I was able to get signal.

FYI, if you are using an analog receiver to locate the sats, transponder 24 on AMC8 will turn the tv screen darker than the norm (still has sparklies, just real dark). Center on this and you should be right on that sat.

Thankyou Thankyou ! 69beeper

THis gives me hope NOw that I know for sure it is up there .

I will try Your Tips , makes total sense , because I simulated a wrong Number on AMC7 and I couldnot find it , when I changed numbers back I it was there . so This muct be what is happening on AMC8

and I see what you are talking about on Tp23 the Analog does have
a darker screen , actualy the Autopeak dish trys to peak dish on that Tp23 .

Much appreciated Info , Thankyou again.

Redit: it is Tp23 tat the Analog will lock in on not 24 , it will peak dish at 199 out of 200 , which is pounding , count number ends up 5555 peaked location(see above about count) , still playing with Frequency no solid lock yet
