Channel drift ??

Hi All,

Finally slaved my Lifetime FTA rec to my BUD (C-band only at this time).

I think I'm having some sort of a freq drift problem though. At first I couldn't receive any signal on AMC 7 (3880 H) or find the 2 better channels on AMC 8. I had to change several of the transponders freqs by a 1-3 MHz in order for the receiver to find any signal and lock onto the channels, it was like this all throughout the arc (91.0ºW - 139.0ºW).

What should I look at to cure this problem?? LNB? As soon as I find the correct 9pin "strait through" serial cable (I only see NUL listed here), I am going to download the newest channel data (and firmware) from Fortec, and would like all the preset frequencies to work. Especially when I get the Ku going, just need another splitter and a 22KHz switch.

Re: Channel drift ??

The freq drift caused by the lnb. You can "fix" this problem by adjusting the LO (plus/minus few mhz to 5150). That way, you can use the freq listed on lyngsat or other sites.

If I do that, will the other TP freqs that DO come in with the right freq setting (per sat) be off sync then? It's about 30-40% for each satellite, some sats are better than others. Thanks

Then I suggest you replace the lnb.
