DirecTV And Dish Network installation~single location
Theres one dishnetwork dish, with the DishPRO lnb (both standard echostar birds) and theres one directv dish pointed at the one main directv bird
theres two cables going in to the house, and there tied in where more RG6 is distributed to each room.
since there is only one cable going to each room, is there a way i can MultiSwitch the dishnet and directv birds together? like a 2x4 or something
my other idea was to use a conventional dishnet dish with two seperate lnbs on it, then use a SW21 to combine the signals before it comes in to the house, would that help the matter?

Re: DirecTV And Dish Network installation~single location
Please verify these:
1. You have 1 DishNet dish 500 which has 2 dual legacy lnbfs
2. You have 1 DirectTV dish which has one dual lnbf aiming at 101W.
3. 2 cables connected to DishNet and DirecTV running into your house, then both connected to a kind of switch (????) to distribute signal to multiple rooms. Please tell us more about the switch in question mark.
How many dishnet/directv receivers you have now? What are you trying to accomplish?
In order to split up satellite signal, one must use a right switch to spit them up. A regular type which sold at RadioShack won't work since polarities (Left and Right) needs to receive correct voltage from the receivers. Let us know more info.

The answer is No.
But it is possible to use a Diseqc 4x1 for switching between 3 satellites (DTV at 101W, DN at 110W and 119W). The 4x1 switch is controlled by a FTA receiver, then slave DirecTV or DishNet to the FTA receiver. I'll be very inconvenient to operate. The best way is to run 2 cabes for each room, one for DN and the other for DTV...:-)

the FTA DVB receiver can be used to control the switch for satellite selection. The problem is that the polarity (Left/Right) needs to be controlled by the FTA receiver as well, meaning if you want to watch DishNet/DirectTV channels on Vertical, you need to use the FTA to switch the voltage so that the lnbf is at Vertical polarity. If you are not familiar with FTA DVB stuff, you are now so confused. In my opinion, running 2 cables to each room will save you lot of headache, and forget about what I have said...:-)

FTA DVB are sold here...:-), if you plan to use the DVB receiver just for switch, it is not worth, plus the plan I give you so far is very inconvenient. Just forget about what I have said in prior post. Running 2 cables to each room will save you lot of heacheach. If you plan to get a FTA DVB receiver for watching FTA channels, then here is the place to order.

Then place the order here. Sadoun is a nice guy to deal with. I recommend the Fortec brand. I have 2 of them, 786v3 and Lifetime. The Ultra model is coming out the end of this month. You can pre-order it to take advantage of free shipping.
