Settings for the lnbf in the receiver

Hi: I just got a satellite system. my goal is to able to get satmex5 frequency 12080 where some channels from Colombia are. I have read a lot about how to do the installation of the dish and I think I got the proper and necessary information.I am stucked trying to configure the receiver. the receiver has an option called  DISH CONNECTION  where there are the following options:

Option

LNB POWER
Choices given 13/18, 14/19, OFF
Option
LNB TYPE
Choices given USER SINGLE, USER DUAL, 5150,
9750/10600, 9750/10750,
9750, 10000, 10750
11300, 11745

Honestelly, I am lost in this part.
the information that I have from my lnb is the following:

Brand Zintech
FSS Digital KU LNBF
fREQ 11.7~12.2 gHZ
N/F 0.6 DB

Is there any way that you can tell me what should I put in my receiver configuration for the lnb power and lnb type?

my location is lat N. 39.8288
Long. W. 75.0147

satmex5 116.8 west
Elevation 27.2
azimuth(geographic) 234.4
azimuth with magnetic deviation 247.1
lnbf polarization 38.6

also, if I need to consider something else in order to get satmex5 frequency 12080 ? :?:

I really will preciate your help

thanks

Lnb power : 13/18
Lnb type: signle 10750.
Do you have see any option for setting polarization. You have to set the polarty at Vertical.
FYI: Most of the channels on this transponder are encrypted. Do you realize that?

thanks michael for your response.
Now, you are making me think more.

I am getting the information about the satmex5 (such as frequency 12080)
from the lyngsat web site http://www.lyngsat.com/sm5.shtml
in there, the polarity for the frequency 12080 is Horizontal and the channels that I want are marked with the F that stands for Free. once again, acording to this web site.

can I trust in that information? or perhaps your information is the correct one...

thank michael for your time..

Colomian Stations on SatMex

I found on Lyngsat.com that Senal Columbia and the other Columbian stations on SatMex are now encoded...no more Telecaribe FTA :-(

I think you can subscribe to these stations through the Globestar service.

I checked this morning and you are right. no more fta colombian channels at satmex5.

I got two questions;

first. how can I get more info about globestar service or any encrypted paytv in order to get channel from colombia? because i did some research about it but i could not get anything. I don't care if i have to pay a fee.

second
I noticed that Intelsat 705 at 50.0 W holds those channels as fta at frequency 10968 Horizontal.
I have a 70 cms dish (30") and I receiver that holds fta, encrypted, c band and ku band.
I live in NJ
at lat. 39.828
long. 75.0147

Now the big question is: do you think I am able to get the signal acording to my location and my equipment?
I bought this system thinking on getting those channels from satmex5 but now since they are not fta anymore, i have to think how to get signal from intelsat705 at 50W. any good idea that you can share with this Colombian desperated guy?

thanks for your attention.

Re: Colomian Stations on SatMex

1. I beleive lyngsat sat has links of programer. Click at it, then email them asking how you can subcribe to, remember to indicate you live in the States.
2. How can you know if you can "see" a sat? Check the link below
http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Installati...Calculator.htm
Selec the sat and the city, if you don't see the sat you want listed, key in 50 in the box "Sat West Long".
Dish Elevation: negative, you are out of luck, between 0-5: very hard to get.
Remember, even you can see the sat, you need to know if the channel is beamed to the US. If not, you are out of the luck as well...:-)
