What channels will I receive?

My contract with D/Network is up so I am looking into other options, what i need to know before I buy are what channels will i receive on the ku band or if their is a better one? C-band is not an option, I am a typical viewer, movies, football, mma. I am located in northern cal. Is their a place where i can watch a system to see how it works?

StevenS will become famous soon enough
If you click on the American Flag on our website you can see a listing of channels in alphabetical order by language. Scroll through the multiple listings in English and note if on "C" band or "Ku" band. Also write down which Sat they are on. By this you can determine if you like the line-up and what equipment you will need

English only?

Most movies on Ku-FTA are foreign, sometimes with subtitles, or religious. Some are edited for content. HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Showtime or even AMC, TMC and the like are not available FTA and you will have to go with a pay provider.

Football, pro and college, feeds are frequent though many (if not most) are C-Band. If you must have a particular team and/or every game then you almost certainly have to go with a pay provider.

MMA exists on Spike, Showtime, Versus and PPV and are all pay provider options. I've never caught an MMA wild feed but I've only recently picked up HD capability. CBS rarely (three times in the last twoyears?) carries MMA which might be OTA in your area.

Thanks Teched, yes English only thats the programming i was looking for. I just started my research and came across some you tube videos about free to air and they were watching newer movies, iron man, wall-e, etc., also pro football games.
