Hi,
I noticed that KUIL-LP Fox affiliate from Beaumont,TX on AMC4 appears to be off the air. Can anyone confirm? I'm looking for any FOX affiliate still on Ku band from 83.0 on up. Below 83.0 I cannot receive. Also I am just looking to see what's the SAT farthest west to fine tune the dish in case I want to go with a motor again. It Looks like I can find 129.0 and nothing farther west. I used to align up with SAT 148.0 as the farthest west SAT. Is it gone? Thanks! lagrange09 |

KUIL-LP dropped FOX affiliation (or vice versa) at the start of 2009. See KUIL-LP - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
From what I've read elsewhere KUIL-LP stopped uplinking in the last week or so. I have to wait for the leaves to fall from some trees to see it for myself. |

Looks like fta is turning out to be a bust !!! with all of the TV & radio that has gone away in the last year , that leaves only 1 good station , the White Springs TV on 129. Or am I missing any ? Thanks Ron Yes I still buy from the MAN = Sadoun

On KU I like the news feeds and other feeds, Nasa on Echostar 7, fun to watch foreign broadcasts just for the scenery. All depends on your taste.

I quite agree with Jim-S; the feeds are what make it worth the time for me. As a matter of fact, I'm buying a 4' dish w/380 motor (upgrading from 90cm) this weekend to goof around with... (I'm going to Columbus to pick it up, maybe I'll get to meet "The Man"!). I'm going to take another crack at C Band, I just can't believe that I can't get anything! But even if C Band ends up being a bust, it'll still help with some of the weaker Ku band transponders- I'm thinking specifically of some of the feed tps on AMC 1.
I like to think of FTA satellite as being a combination of shortwave radio, a police scanner and a TV rolled into one! As one who likes to sit on the deck with a shortwave and see what's out there, this is kind of the same thing, but with a picture. (And radio, if you like.) CN |

Hi Ron, You mention White Springs. You may also want to look at 103W for History (East) and Bio channel that are in the clear. Not much else though, except religious channels. I'm just upset that there are no more FOX channels on Ku. I live in CA and used to watch my beloved Dallas Cowboys. Now I am stuck with the 49ers....yuck! Anyway, if there are FOX channels on C-Band, I may need to buy a dish. I agree, from 1 year ago, it seems that Ku FTA has faded. I really miss my RTN! Have fun, lagrange2009 |
