viewsat and HH90 STAB motor

Having problems with my setup.

Viewsat 2000 plat.
STAB HH90 motor
Invacom LNB ( circular and linear pol.) quad
DISEq 4+1 switch between LNB and motor

Receiver will not move the rotor/dish between two satellites.
Receiver will send the dish/motor to one location>> bird is found.
When moving from one bird to another>>> mostly it is unseccessful>>meaning>> rotor moves, but does not calculate properly the location!!!
The receiver has to be turned OFF then back ON>> the rotor only then moves to TRUE SOUTH ( or close to it) and then moves to the desired position of the new bird.

Any ideas how to solve this problem??
Thank you all on this forum.

Latitude and longitude, motor elevation angle are O.K.
Switch has ben changed, just to eliminate some possible problem.
Line (RG6) are only few meters long.
Receiver has been reset to factory setting at least 3 times.
Using USALS. No other option except USER, INSTALLER, USALS on the receiver's menu.

Most likely, in "USALS" menu of ViewSat you have to specify your location.
"True South" position is called "reference" point, it's "0" on motor scale.

Where do you have the switch located? Should be between the motor and the lnbf.

Yes, a switch is between LNB and the motor.>>> 2 cables from LNB to a switch>>> then a cable from a switch to a motor>>> and from a motor to a receiver .

Yes, my location ( longitude and latitude degrees) are input when doing a satellite search.

Just enclosing a copy of an email I have received from FORTEC and STAB MOTOR COMPANY when asked for their professional advice regarding this problem>>>>here:

So , when you are purchasing this product I would now think twice!!!!

FROM: THEIR RESPONSE

The Viewsat receiver is designed and made for the stealing satellite
signals from Dish Network. It is not a proper receiver for true FTA and
has many problem controlling a motor. This is a well know problem with
the Viewsat receiver.

Fortec

AND FINALLY MY WORDS TO THEM :

I have purchased your company's product and hoped for a professional advice from you, not a opinion about the receiver. Your motor/rotor is designed to control about a 90 cm large dish, which is only good for KU band satellites. There is about the same number of free to air channels you can get on viewsat as you can get on for example fortec in KU band frequencies.
Viewsat receiver is purchased and advertised as FTA receiver, you can check all the places where they sell it.
Your office can at least provide some professional advice about the issues described , which might be due to the problems with the STAB motor or only due to receiver malfunctions.
There is also a number of problems with STAB motors, as described in many FTA forums.
I am really disappointed with your response and I will advise other FTA enthusiasts to look elsewhere when looking for their antenna motors. I will enclose a copy of your e-mail so they understand what technical support they will receive!!!

Check for Radiobob's threads.
If I recall correctly, he did set up Viewsat to work with a motor.
Stab motors are good, and "USALS" is their trademark, they will survive...

If you have installed aftermarket software in your receiver that could be all of your problems which is probably what Fortec was hinting at.

I have installed viewsat with motors. The original factory software can control the motor fine, but I found that from time to time it loses the saved satellite position and you have to save it again. As far as the turning off, I did not see that. I belive it's a firmware problem.
