Stab 100 Possessed

last thursday during rain my stab 100 went crazy went all the way to the west and stayed there tried reference the motor it moved to the reference point then back to the west and stayed there.check connections they were ok. so my question is could water get into the motor and cause this? because after the sun came out saturday the system started working fine. and is there away to water proof the motor?

I don't know the answer, however, I wonder if the fact that (I THINK) that motor is the one with the shaft pointing UP instead of DOWN, has anything to do with it??? Ie many of the motors have the shaft pointing down, and the seal around the shaft is down where it isn't as likely to leak, however that Stab 100 has the shaft pointed UP, and the seal is really exposed to rain.

I just wonder what the relative reliability of shaft up motors vs shaft down motors is????

the shaft is up on the stab and as soon as it dried out it started to work fine.I was just wandering if you slipped a piece of intertube down the shaft if it would help repel the rain?

We are getting close to the 31st. Are you using a feedhorn cover? Perhaps the witches are testing for the 31st.

I thought of that Steve but the lnbf was working fine I guest we will have to use a cover on the motor also.LOL
