hh90 motor problems

Need some answers...I can only get the motor to drive to the lower sats, 15-97. Will not drive past 97. I've got in USALS mode, set it up according to instructions, checked and rechecked. Any ideas?

Do you possibly have your longitude and latitude entries reversed in the USALS setup? Something physically stopping the dish from moving? Your longitude? If USALS is driving to 15 you must be on the east coast. I am in Indiana and can get down to 30 but no more. Will it go down past 15? From 15 to 97 is 82 degrees movement. Sadoun says roughly 50 each way from center which if you can go farther east you most likely have full travel. I am getting 63 degrees travel each way.

You have decent movement.

Please help!!!

Okay, today I got it to drive anticlockwise and set the 30deg sat as reference. Unfortunately I can't reproduce what I did, even though it seems I'm doing the exact same procedure, to set it up to the 97deg sat which is my south reference sat. Anyone who's had experience setting up a Coolsat and an HH90, please help!!!

Update: I have finally figured out how to set this thing up. Only now I have a new problem...the motor oscillates about 5 degrees back and forth, continuously. About every 5 seconds. I can also tell by the indicator on the sat finder that a pulse is being sent up the line. This is keeping me from being able to dial in any satellites. Any ideas?

My 2nd (of 3) HH90's did that. Was determined to be "defective, unrepairable".

It was returned and replaced under warrenty by Fortec.

That's what I thought. But it doesn't do it with a 6' cable setup in the living room where I was testing it earlier. And I didn't have the dish attached to it while testing.

might be because you did'nt have a load on it. works ok without a load but not ok with a load may have some gears slipping.

I was thinking the same thing...that possible the motor couldn't keep it's position and was trying to compensate. I'll be eliminating all switches next, with just a straight through cable next. And if it still does it, it'll be replacement time for the motor. Thanks for the input.
