HH Motor question

While attempting to correct a customers attempt to jerry-rig an HH mount to a 4X4 wooden (non-plum) fence post, I damaged the mother board with a drill bit. (don't ask) The transistor located at position Q2 was damaged. The casiing of the Relay located at position K2, was cracked. I replaced the transistor. The relay seems to work fine, however, When I hold down the motor control button (once for east and 2x for west) the arm rotates for only abour 2 sec and then stops. Is this normal? Arent they supposed to continue as long as the buttons are held? All other parts on the board appear OK. Will this effect the "goto x " feature on the satellite receiver. Is this motor fried? any help would certainly be appreciated. The motor in question is a SG-2100.

I had my SG2100 do the exact same thing when setting up. I have it tied to a Fortec Platinum receiver. I found shutting down the receiver and unplugging then firing it back up resolved it. I also have a battery pack that I hook to the motor sometimes when outside (no receiver) and didn't notice this problem when using it.
