STAB motor moving back to "0" when changing satell

Hello,

I run into problems with STAB HH90 motor - quite often it goes back to "0" when changing to a satellite. Sometimes just continues going back and forth until I switch receiver off. I have only 100' cable between motor and receiver. I measured cable resistance on the receiver end by shorting the motor side - it was about 2.0 Ohms. Is this too much? Did anyone else experienced similar problems? Help would be highly apreciated!

Thanks!

You haven't given many details, what receiver are you using? Sometimes if the memory is full erratic behaviour will result, remove some channels. Does it happen when you use USALS or diseqc 12 or both? If your receiver has the original software on it, maybe it needs to be updated from the manufacturer, go to the website and check if an update is available.

Thanks for quick reply! Sorry: I'm using Coolsat5000. This occurs even when I delete all the channels and reset to factory defaults. I did download newest firmware from manufacturer. It happens with both USALS and diseqc1.2. In diseqc1.2 when I go either east or west after few steps (sometimes even single) the motor goes back to "0" and then to required position. I think it got worse with time - it occurs more frequently now. It is brand new motor, so I would not expect it to wear off so quickly. New thing I noticed is that when I switch polarization to horizontal (18V) then the problem is less frequent.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, if its better at 18V than 13V it could be too much load for the motor. How big is the dish? Are you using a diseqc or 22khz switch? If so take it out and try it. Is your coax all one piece or several junctions? You might not be getting quite enough power to the motor...check your connections. It could just be a bad motor. Maybe someone with a similar setup to yours will jump in here and give you a hand
