treelover is on a distinguished road
Caught between a twist and a skew

I am fed up climbing onto my roof attempting to get my dish to latch a satellite.

I AM GOING TO MOTORIZE MY DISH!!

Now that was not hard to state BUT WHAT THE HECK DO I USE TO GET THIS DONE??

So far I have looked at web pages for Stab HH120 series, SG2100's, PM900's, SPM990, SG107, SG99, a DP710 V box dish mover (controller I think) and how much more should I sift through? I am trying to do this ONCE and be done with it.

I need some serious recomendations! I plan to use an old DTV 36" 3 LNB dish. If Dave's LNB's won't work I will replace them with something that will. The mounting shaft on the dish is 1 7/8" diameter.

Wish I had a better grasp on this but I don't. Some of the things I think I need are:

* Would like to have something that can rotate faster than a tortoise can gallop.

* Something durable enough to withstand windloading up to at least 60 MPH.

* I think having a method to control the motor other than a FTA receiver would be nice but I have a FTA so nice is not required.

* Doesn't need pedigree papers but wide acclaim will earn that rotor 2 points.

* Cost is no object as long as its very reasonable.

* Should have H to H capability

* Operation at higher voltages with a controller is OK at least at this time.

COME ON FOLKS--- WHAT RECOMMENDATIONS DO YOU HAVE?
