It works but there is something I don't understand

Hello all

I have a fortec 1 meter dish and a hh-120 stab motor.

I'm located at 46.8 latitute and 71.6 longitude.

According to the formula on this site and the stab manual, I should point the motor elevation to my latitue (47) and the dish elevation to 23.
I even went at the stab site and this is what they sent me back.

The only problem is I aligned it yesterday and my dish elevation is not 23 but 37!

I.m not finished but I'm checking which satellites I get.

Is it possible or should it really be 23?

Best regards

Labgate

I've found that while the rotor elevation is fairly straigtforward to set (your lattitude, as mentioned), the actual dish elevation needs to be experimented with. Set everything up as instructed, then pull up a signal screen for whatever your true south sat. is. Then slowly adjust the dish elevation until you can peak the signal. See what elevation that is, and use that as the reference.
