ALMOST Vertically Plumb....

OK...here's my scenario.

I've owned a STAB HH120 and a dish for some time now, but have only had my dish up for about two months now, and still haven't installed the motor, so I currently just move satellite - satellite by hand (yes, very annoying, considering I have to take the TV and rxvr outside each time!). I measured my 80cm Fortec Star's mount today with the angle locator and noticed it is about 3° off plumb. I have no difficulty aiming the dish by hand (perhaps that's because I virtually have IA-5's position in the sky almost memorized from turning it around so many times and markings). However, I'm wondering if there's some way I can get the motor to compensate for this inaccuracy. Perhaps I can correct the dish's elevation upon the motor when I install it there by about 3°? What do you guys think?

It won`t work. The pole has to be plumb or the dish will not follow the arc.

my mast is not perfect, not sure if it's 3 deg off as I've never measured it. It works OK.

I'd give it a try.

Is there any way you could use a guy wire and pull the mount back to plumb?

You might be able to get a few adjacent satellites but not the whole arc. Spending time adjusting your pole will make tracking the arc much easier for you.
