Yes, all motors adjust the dish elevation for each satellite as they turn the dish. Also make sure you have zero LNB skew when using a motor.

No problem. For even more information go and read the "HH Motor Instructions" in Sadoun's website. It will all become very clear to you how motors work and how they automatically compensate for dish elevation and LNB skew.

bobkat, I did change the lnb to skew 0. I still have 90% quality on the 119 bird. However, as soon as I change the SatMex 5 bird. I got 0% quality. According to you and to what I learn from the Sadoun forum, if I am able to get a good quality from my south satellite which the 119 bird in this case since my logitude is 118.2 W, I sould be able to get a good quality on other bird using the USAL move. Infact, I am still not able to get good quality on other bird using USAL. I am now not sure what did I do wrong here. I started to have a feeling that my $180 investment is gone.

If that is all you have invested, you are getting hurt at all.Don't give up so easily...this is not a day in the park, either.I have a feeling that something is amiss in the motor mounting setup, because you are hitting 119,and off on satmex. The only 2 things affecting that would be dish elevation and motor mounting(the 2 main ones, anyway).

From the pictures, it looks like your LNBF skew is way off. Make sure the skew is 0.

Sadoun, I did change my lnb to skew 0. I still have 90% quality on 119 bird, but as soon as I move the antenna to SatMex5/Ku, I lost all quality ( 0% ) and I have 80% on level. Do you think any thing else I need to change to make the HH90 motor work. Please advice

I still think it might be that your dish/motor is not perfectly alligned. I am assuming everything is level and plumb. Try some other sattelite (other than SatMex). Maybe G10R. And try to get signal there.
You would be amazed how in the end 1/8" up/down left/right at the right time might make a difference.

I can only agree.
FTANEW: You must assure you lined up the motor/dish/lnb ALL at ZERO to your mangtically corrected south setting. Then, and only then, will USALS be able to track correctly. I have a strange feeling that although you are getting the dish sat signal, something is out-of-whack when you get there. Then you attempt to adjust to another sat (ie satmex) using USALS, and it doesnt work because your initial lineup was not perfect.
What's strange for me is that with your setup you get dish's sats signals. If I try with my linear FTA lnb I dont get any signals at all from dish's sats. Then again, I'm on an ultra not a Pansat although they are purportedly the same thing.

Thanks vj9999 & pmb1010. I'll try to dismount the dish & the motor. Start over to see if I can have any chance next time.
pmb1010, the reason's why I am able to capture 119 signal is the lnb that I am using is a fortec universal lnb.

FYI, universal lnbf will not get you all the circular transponders.
So don't be misleaded by the name "universal"...:-)

Michael, you are right. I notice that eventhough I can capture good quality on the 119 bird, I am able to see only 6 channels from 119 only.

We need to know more details. Is your setup perfectly plumb and level? Did you select an active transpnder on your true south satellite (SBS6 - http://www.lyngsat.com/sbs6.html : 11741 H - 6616 SR ONN). DO not even try to do anything else until you get signal and quality n this satellite/transponder. If you don't have signal on your due south satellite, chances are you are of the arc and all other satellites wont be received.
When you are setting the elevatio of the dish and/or azimuth of your whoule setup(including motor) make very very slow movements (1/8" can make a big difference). Allow for the receiver to lock in on the signal after each movement.
That's about all help I can offer without physically being there

vj9999, what would be my true south sat? SatMex5 or 119. I am living in Orange County. According to Sadoun software, my longitude is 118.25. Is that correct to say my true south sat is Echo7 ( 119 ). If 119 bird is my true south sat then what would be my active TP on 119? Could you please advice? I plan to start over my HH90 installation this weekend.
Thanks for your helps.

119 is your trou south sat, but it uses circular polarization and while universal lnb will pick up some transponders, it is not really guaranteed which ones.
You can use SatMex5 I guess or you can even use Echo9 at 121. It uses linear polarization and any of the transponders listed should be active 24/7 and fairly strong.
So use USALS to move your motor to 121 and try to get the best possible signal/quality. Then move furthest east/west and try to get a good signal/quality. Maybe dts expert can help you more with what should be your furthest east/west since he is from your areae. But, if I remember from your pictures that house next to you might be a problem for you going far east and there isn't much more to the west exept Horizons1 and G10R.

vj9999, Thanks for the advice. I will try to point to 121 bird this weekend. Hopefully, I'll be lucky this time.
