Here's a question...

WHy are there so many Mexican FTA channels... while there are two Canadian sats (Anik F1,F2?) and there's 2-3 FTA channels.. what's up with that?

You would think that Canada, being a little more advanced technology-wise than Mexico should have/provide more FTA channels to rival Mexico...

What gives? d'oh!

Canadians have learned the fine art of scrambling.

D'oh! Good answer.. heheh... or you can think of it as Canadians are more "private" and Mexicans are more "open." heheheh..

See.. the way I see it.. is .. you'd think Canadians are very protective of your culture and dont want to be influenced by America.. fine.. I accept that.. so then what they need to do is "promote" their culture (albeit it's quite close to America anwyays.heh) by broadcasting their shows in FTA mode, so we Americans can "assimilate" into their culture and their culture can propagate around the world instead of being influenced/bombarded with so many (dorky American TV shows (ala Homer Simpson, Married with Children, Jerry Springer...) (d'oh)... heheheeh.... shucks...

Way off topic All about money. Are the Canadian sats privately owned and others government? Most of FTA is setup to display a providers ability to deliver content in hopes they will be picked up by a cable or sat provider. As with here there are many scrambled signals for all areas. Just for the record not all the Spanish language channels are out of Mexico. I get Cuba, South America, Guatemala and many others. I watch Hugo Chavez straight out of Venezuala

AH.... I see.. I figured that... most Canadian sats/channels are private, so I guess they want to make money and not let it go FTA... heh...

Yes, I know that many FTA channels from down south are not just from Mexico, but other parts of South America, Brazil, etc.... heheh

Also, I noticed that when I go to ...sadoun.net, it lists me the top recent posts, but I noticed like for example, this forum, it doesnt list there with the most recent posts.. are some forums blocked from showing in that top-level page?

Another note. There really aren't that many Mexican FTA channels. Spanish language yes but the bulk of non South American channels are actually American channels. South America puts out a bunch of FTA.
