55.5 & 58 C Band

Well here we go again with C Band. Ran a scan on 55.5 last night and came away with 41 channels mixed Spanish and Portugese with 1 being Televisa out of Mexico.

When I ran a scan on 58 we came away with an additional 71 channels. When I run these scans I put all Spanish language channels into Spanish only fav lists. I have filled one list which has a capacity of 200 and have 2 entries in a second one at this time.

I currently am working long hours 7 days a week so my time to play is very limited but when I have the entire system completely operational I will be posting tp info sat by sat with a complete list of channels available for both C and Ku bands.

to get decent reception on c band would recommend a 8.5 ft dish.

I use 8.5' dishes for C Band or larger. If your receiver does blind scan simply do a blind scan on the sat. A look at www.lyngsat.com will give all info for the sats except any feeds I have found additionally. It will give you a good start.

Blind scan?

I tried that blind scan for T-6 (Intelsat 6) and some how I got the T-5 channels? I know one is 93W and the Other is 97W. This is why I want at least two transponders infor with frequencies, channels, and those numbers 20.000 (what ever they are called) Maybe with that info, I might get the Azteca Channels especially TV Azteca 13

Your dish is not adjusted properly. Start by aligning your dish. What size dish do you presently have?

the freq you are looking for on IA6 is TP 12076 SR 8681. to find other freq check www.lyngsat.com.

lnb or lnbf

I dont know which one I have. All i know is that is KU universal 1. I was able to get Satmex 5 KU programming (that really sucked) What is the difference between lnb and lnbf? As you can see I am really Green, but I am trying to learn all about FTA, and satellite information....

a lnb is bolted on to a seperate feedhorn usually with a polrotor motor to controll polarity. a lnbf is a lnb and feed horn made together.

I guess is a lnb, It is a single piece. It is supposed to get digital and analog Channels ????? I guess this is ok? I knew that my old system would only get analog... I will be getting my c lnb soon from Canada, then I will get to play and scan SatMex 5, 6, and any others that are C band. Hopefully by then I know what I am doing....

A lnb is basically a square box that bolts on the side of something (the feedhorn) and a lnbf is all one piece with just a coax connection to it. If you have a lnb you need something to control polarity. This is usually accomplished using a receiver such as DSR922. The only DVB receivers I know of that will control polarity on a lnb is a Pansat. Polarity is controlled through the coax cable on a lnbf and a DVB receiver handles switching between H and V

the satworks also control polarity Steve and I think some of the traxis also control it.

I guess I am alright, Huh? I am still not sure what i Have. It is a long piece that has some round cover where you screw it on the dish. Whenever I get it I will screw it to the dish and hopefully it will work. It is supposed to get digital and analog c band reception. It is not a square box like you guys are saying. Thanks for the info, and I cant wait for it to arrive.....
