    VENESAT 1 @ 78.0°W is testing

VENESAT 1 @78.0°W is testing now on C band.
Just one degree east of AMC5 aim your antennas and do a scan to see a bunch of transponders transmitting from Venezuela.
Some transponders are transmitting a reprisse of the Olympics all in chinese language.
Even that president Chaves said that no signal will reach the United States, looks like his footprints are strong enough to be received in Florida at least.
I'm receiving with a 6 footer antenna and a viewsat receiver.
I would like reports to see who else is receiving VENESAT1.

I tried KU but all I got was NYN from AMC5, but I didn't get KTEL?
Sat's may be to close only 1 degree apart.

So far no programming on Ku.
To make it easy if you are not doing USALS, from AMC5 just one degree to the east.
Once you move to the east and get 0 quality on AMC5 you will be on VENESAT1.
They have lots of transponders active on C band.
Since there is nothing on C band on the 79° neighborhood, you will get VENESAT very easy.
The C band transponders are at 40% quality and up.
    Good luck trying this sat.
As I said before I can receive it in Florida with a 6 footer.
Maybe, I'm getting the cuban beam.
As you all know Chavez will not fail to give signal to his mentor Fidel.

Today (1/10/2009) the Venezuelan government is doing the inaugural ceremony to do final acceptance of the satellite and officially start broadcasting.
Right now at 10:31 AM EST you can find feeds on C band where they are getting ready to transmit the ceremony live.
I am receiving the signal on C band
    Freq: 3887
    Polarity V
    SR 23000 3/4
    Video 54
    Audio 55
    PCR 54

You got it rainman. Those are the channels. I'm receiving them with 70% quality with a six footer.
Yesterday I saw all the feeds of the inaugural ceremony as it happened.
Even that I do not agree with President Chavez ideology, it was worth the time spent as it was a historical act live on television.

    let's check Ku

Have you guys have you checked Ku?
I forgot to mention that while watching C band during the weekend, they showed a screen with the Ku frequency that they were broadcasting.
I did not make any notes but I remember it was on low Ku somewhere around 11300.
Can anyone confirm if this is accurate?
