Amazonas 61.0-beams

Hi everyone I am new to the forum, and to the FTA community. I have been searching past threads, and still have not found the answer to this doubt. I am from Colombia, but recently moved to Miami, Fl. In Colombia, I was subscribed to Telefonica Digital Satellite service that works on satellite 61.0. Is there any way to get this bird from my new location? I brought my receiver and lnb. I have read that this satellite can only be reached with a 6 foot c-band dish, but that does not explain the following charts: North America Ku, Amazonas at 61.0°W - LyngSat Maps , South America Ku Amazonas at 61.0°W - LyngSat Maps . C band chart Amazonas at 61.0°W - LyngSat Maps . The Ku dish of Miami is of a similar size of the one in South America, I do not understand why people say that you need such a large dish to get the “foot prints” (which I do not know with this means.) Also in the Lyngsat page it says that Telefonica is beamed to South America, what does the beam scenario mean. Is this the reason why you need such a large dish. And lastly, if a C band dish is required, will I be able to use the Telefonica receiver.

Cool Amazonas

Unfortunately some of the questions are retorical.
Please don't insist trying to find an answer about Telefónica reaching Florida because it is not possible.
If the Ku beams are focused to South America they do not reach North America.
Not everything you read is true and there are lots of people using forums to mislead others.
I have a 6 footer and I cannot receive Amazonas on Ku.
On C band there are quite a few FTA brasilian channels and others from Paraguay.
By the way all the information displayed at the LYNGSAT website is very accurate and the maps are accurate as well.
If you are interested in Colombian channels you can find lots of them on the NSS806 satellite.
For the NSS806 you need a 6 feet antenna with a circular C band LNBF and a FTA receiver of your choice. Any brand can tune the NSS806.
