Galaxy 10 R Channels: Bosnian, Serbian and Macedonian

To whom it may concern:

I do not own a dish but am very interested in purchasing one so as to receive programming from Galaxy 10R and Telstar 5. It is my understanding that an HH motor would be needed. However, I also am concerned about Free to Air channels being scrambled from their providers. Therefore, shouldn't I purchase a receiver that is capable of descrambling channels that some day may become pay channels????

Does anyone know the name of the receiver that I would need to purchase that is capable of receiving channels from Galaxy 10R and Telstar 5, yet has the capability of descrambling those channels such as MKTV, RTS whom I am afraid may some day become scrambled. :?: :?:

If RTS and MKTV become scrambled on G10R the only receiver that will work is a TARBS receiver (TARBS is the provider) because TARBS will only activate or "authorize" a TARBS receiver, just like GlobeCast will only authorize pay channels on a GlobeCast receiver. The same can be said about Dish Net and Directv.

No one knows what will happen to these channels but I do have some news regarding RTS.

I am currently using a GlobeCast receiver to watch Pink Plus, with a DiseqC switch and a second dish to receive RTS.

Nothing is guaranteed in the world of Free-To-Air television. A while back, we were enjoying Pink Plus, RTS, and MKTV free on Galaxy 10R. But Pink + told Tarbs they were doing unauthorized broadcasting of their channel in north america therefore forcing them (Tarbs) to take it off air and subsequently licensing with Globecast on Telstar 5 and are now charging 20 dollars a month for Pink +.

I hope to some kind of super human power that MKTV does not go because it is a very important channel in my family.. I dont understand why RTS is bitching to Tarbs and also suing Tarbs for damages because instead of being greedy for money they dont realize that there are Yugoslavs living in north america that rely on the channel and is their only link back home.

This is for my father who is now retired and would love to view RTS and MKTV on a television instead of via the internet. Aren't RTS and MKTV still available for free via the Galaxy 10R satellite? If not, then it would not pay for my father to purchase a receiver and a dish.

Lastly, I don't understand what is truly going on with TARBS. I don't read Serbian that well so I forwarded the page to my father to see what it is saying. I thought that the TARBS service was not available in the United States. Do you know if it is or if it ever will be available? I believe my father would be willing to pay for these channels if needed. Otherwise, I truly believe that I should purchase a receiver that is called a CI receiver due to the fact that these channels may some day be scrambled.

What do you think I should recommend to my father with reference to what type of receiver that he ought to purchase? :?: :?:

MKTV and RTS have been broadcasting for more than a year now FREE TO AIR on Galaxy 10R. If you buy dish+receiver now they will probably still be up. All I am saying was that FTA is not a guarenteed business. Something that is free has a right to stop broadcasting since you are not paying for anything. So don't be upset if all of a sudden one day they go off air.

Tarbs World TV is a company that originated in Australia and have their own receiver and broadcasting rights there. Also the channels there are not free. In North America however, last year Tarbs started transmitting some of their transponders and channels for free on Galaxy 10R and have one transponder (11920 V 28066 3/4) That has MKTV, RTS, and others. (Pink Plus used to be on there but not anymore)

If you want guarenteed and paid service, you may purchase a globecast receiver and dish (if you don't have one) and pay for channels such as Serbia's Pink Plus, BKTV. EACH channel costs around 20 dollars a month to view. Globecast transmits on Telstar 5, which has many free channels but they are mostly Arabic. There is a free Croatian channel on there too. TV Bulgaria can also be subscribed to also.

Like DruzoTito said, no guarantees on FTA channels. However, RTS and MKTV have been there FTA for more than 1 year now. What you should do is buy an FTA system (receiver,dish,LNBF). If the channels become encrypted in the future, then you can only swap the receiver and subscribe. The FTA receiver can be sold on eBay since many other people (Arabic, Asians, Iranians, Europeans, etc) would be interested in buying it from you.

Even if you lose $50-60 when you sell your FTA receiver, that is the equivalent price you would have to pay for 2-3 months of service if you consider subscription. But, the pleasure your father will have watching these channels right away will be priceless
