Is Tarbs on it's way out?

Globecast now has the exclusive broadcast rights for Pink Plus for North America. Tarbs has little chance of survival without Pink, no balkan channel package is complete without it. In Australia they offer Pink Plus, RTS SAT, BK TV, MK TV and a few american channels for $34.95 US. Here in the USA they have already lost Pink Plus and BK TV (Braca Karic) to the mighty Globecast. Tarbs is in a major financial crisis. Tarbs used to operate on four transponders with 52 channels, now they can only afford to operate on one lonely transponder. Tarbs must have spent millions on operating these channels for free to air for 18 months now. They also are having big problems operating their low profit Asia-Pacific service which has been off the air for a few months now. On top of all of that Globecast has now started it's own service Globecast Australia to compete with TARBS for the Australia-Asia market. I don't believe Tarbs when they say they will be adding new channels unless they plan on becoming a non- profit company.

tarbs

well if im gonna pay 34.95$ monthly than i want a garauntee that it wont scramble and go off when it rains or we have wind oitside plus i want the channels to be digitally perfect because right now they have the color mess up at times and the picture was crappy on pink it always had the color messing up in the background , so i will pay money for those channels but i want everything to be perfect not like it is now.

What is globecast and how do you get it?

$200 for the complete system or if you already own a dish its $150 for the receiver and smart card and $20 a month for Pink, there are also dozens of free to air channels mostly from the mid East but also From Croatia and
Romania Int. For more info go to globecastwtv.com
The picture quality is much better than on TARBS and without the interference.
Cyprus SAT is on TARBS for a "30 day trial basis." talk about bad picture!
If they want to add more channels they are going to need to engage their other 3 transponders which have been dead for over 2 months.

funny

20$ a month just for pink  thats funny i wouldnt pay 20$ for one channel ever :x i could get showtime and hbo in the US plus those channels are commercial free unlike pink which has tons of commercials, in australia they have pink, rts,bk,mtv and hrtv and they only pay 30$ monthly fee and that includes all the other free to view channels from greece, turkey and middle east ....

You're right $20 is to much, but I have been spoiled and teased by Pink for over a year now so I have become a Globecast loser I mean subscriber. Judging by my 45 minute wait to get through to a Globecast sales rep I am not the only one.

Take it easy. Globecast as any other legitimate enterprise is in business to make money. If the $20 per month is too expensive, which I think it is for one channel, you have the choice not to subscribe.

Your best option is to write to Pink+ and tell them what you think about their move. Maybe if they heard from many people, they will opt to provide the channel as FTA.

Well to me it's not how many channels I Receive that matters its the qualityof the channel. Directv has over 100 channels but I honestly spend more time now watching one channel (Pink Plus) than I do watching Directv. The main reason I subscribed to Directv is to watch Fox Sports World's soccer coverage which is not on my local cable.

Well anyway today Globe Cast added another TARBS channel Telepace from Italy. Here we go again!

I am not sure if you can just get Fox Sports World alone because it is part of the "sports package" which I pay $10 month. It has like 30 channels thats better than $20 for just one.

ESPN Deportes is a newer channel and with the high spanish speaking population here I think it will be offered soon, so don't give up.

Why does ESPN show only one game? I thought they used to have two games a week one on Tuesday and then again on Wednesday live, at least if they would show the games recorded i would still watch.
