DirecTV from south america

Hi, I have a DirecTV receiver and LNBF from Colombia, I used to watch channels from colombia, but something happend and nobody is able to watch colombian channel anymore the only way that I can get it again is having a 6' (1.8m) dish.

I just get a Fortec Start FS6D to try but it is not working. I have the signal but the receiver is not reading it. my brother has a prime focus dish same size and is working the only difference is his dish is one piece, mine is assembled.

Is this dish good for what I want?

Do I need something else to get the signal from this dish?

Can you give me more information about your setup? I'm trying to do the same thing but with DTV Argentina. Did you buy the receiver, authorized card, dish and LNB from DTV Colombia? Or were you using a US DTV receiver? Also, when did you loose the signal? Were you able to receive all channels from Colombia or just some of them? Did you aim your dish to Galaxy IIIC at 95ºW?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'll be getting a receiver from Argentina pretty soon and I just want to get and share as much information as possible.
Thanks and keep me posted if you get your channels back !!!

Were any of you able to get it working?

Similar issue as yours, starting off both receiver and LNB brought from Venezuela. Currently in Houston. Bought a 18" dish in US. When aiming at Galaxy3C (175azimuth 55elevation) with original LNB signal reads 99, but replacing by GLA LNB (LNB04GLA) signal drops and receiver signal meter unable to pick signal (short tones instead of continuous one).

As LNB & receiver must match, no image when I use the GLA receiver with the US LNB.

Might be an antenna size issue? If so, how I determine appropriate size?

Thanks in advance,
