picking a Sat Finder

I am working over in the middle east area, between Iraq and Afghanistan. I currently only use the iDirect software for sat finding, but I want to use a real sat finder. Which sat finder would be better for the area I work in. I did find the sathawk 4000 has the euro, middle east, asia sat info but the sadoun says the 4000 is discontinued. would the bird dog work well over here? Or will the sathawk 5000 do well too? and when will the 5000 hit the market?

I don't recommend the Birdog for the Middle East since it will be difficult to get a datafile for the satellites you are interested in.

We have a couple of SatHawk 3000 (refurbished units) left. The SH5000 will be available in 2-3 weeks. Both are user friendly and can be customized with the satellites / transponders you are interested in.

It seems you are PC/software savvy.

I am computer savvy, and It seems im waiting for the 5000. Im not really intrested in buying an older model as it probably wont be supported, nor will it have a normal factory warranty. Thank you for your help.

SH3000 can't be upgraded to SH5000.
