Hello fellow Birdogies!

My Birdog has seen pretty heavy use and has lost its 'found sat' beep alert noise.

Even worse it seems to be intermittent with 'found sat' text.

The meter levels seem to be working but the found sat indication really makes the use of the unit worthwhile.

Any hints for restoring sound? or similar experience?

No damage apparent - battery life still seems fine - no other changes noticed either.
Have not updated software for most of a year either - since it was working perfect.

I don't think this is a problem that can be cured by a software update. Sounds to me like the meter has seen better days. You might try opening up the unit and checking the F-connector where you plug your test cable in. It might be making intermittent contact. If that doesn't work you may need to send it in for repairs.
