    What info in the SatHawk?

    Hi

I’m recently new in this hobby and I want to see FTA channels (especially NASA channel @ 119W). I’d just bought the SatHawk 3000 ver 5.1.6 and I want to know what info do I have to choose to get my dish pointed.

The SatHawk’s file has many options for the 119 satellite (Dispro, Super Dish, Eco and Direct TV all of them with the KL and KR option)

As far as I know I should select Eco 119 to get the NASA channel. So I selected the Eco 119 in my SatHawk and I got the following:

    For KL: SS 67 / PQ 0
    For KR: SS 70 / PQ 97

And I can't see the NASA channel

Do I have to get some PQ in the KL Section?
Am I selecting the right info in my SatHawk?

Buy the way I have a Circular LNB California brand (legancy)

    Thanks

First thing you need to know is what kind of LNB you're using. If it's legacy or DP, Twin or dual...
echo 119 is for legacy Dual or single lnb's.
DP 119 is for DP lnb's
Superdish 119 is for superdish. (121 or 105).
So in your case you would select echo 119.

The Meter would display found on 119 even if you're pointing to 110 or similar satellite. If you're not getting the channels, try to move the dish left or right to get "found" again.

KR, KL is for left or right polarity. If you have legacy lnb, then you might want to get "Found" on both polarities

    Nasa : 12370R, SR 20000, FEC 7/8

Pictureon….I really appreciate your helping me on this topic. Just to tell you, I have pointed my dish to 119° and had moved several times my dish and I can’t see any FTA channel. What I have notice is that the KL reading on my SatHawk is weaker that the one showed in KR.

Maybe my dish has something wrong or my LNB is not well centered. I will try on the weekend to determine what’s going on.

    Thanks

Try the calibration process for the meter to get the KL/KR signal and quality reading to around 70-80

This is normal. as Sadoun said the meter needs to be calibrated if it's showing very low or very high signal. To do that you would press and hold the red button (mode).
Please let me know what brand of reciver you're using so I can help you better. You might need to adjust the lnb settings on the receiver.

Pictureon….I had calibrated the Sathawk because I couldn’t see any info on the display. What I have noticed pointed at 119 is that the calibration level is to low for the PQ in both KL and KR ~ 20 and for the SS was ~ 70.

Is there any level range I should looking for whe I calibrate the meter (not the figure that the meter shows when it's working but the figure that the meter shows when it's been calibrating)?

By the way…I have a DB 7025 which I gave to a friend to set it up (I have tried for three months to receive any FTA channels but I haven’t gotten anything). He has two dishes working whit his Triple Dragon receiver (one pointing at 119 and the other at 110) and he set my DB and he could see FTA channels in both satellites with his dishes at his house (he loaded his channel list on my receiver).

So, when he returned my DB to me I though I was going to be easy to correctly point my dish to 119 or 110 (I’m not sure which one of them is the easiest to point at or which has the strongest signal). That’s why I’m thinking that my new dish (Fortec 1.2 mts) or my new LNB (circular, California brand) are not working properly.

Finally I’m like in the begging, without getting any FTA signal.

There is no FTA signal on 110,119. Read our forum rules.
