Have been in Radio, TV, Electronics business since 1973. Been in the satellite business for 25 years and used everything from analog squawkers to GS-1000 and Avcom SA37D's. I work on everything from
DTV & DN to SB, DW, and up to PES, SL, and more.
I am quite impressed with the ID capability and light weight of the SatHawk 3000. I will still carry my Spec-A's for critical testing, but they will be riding in the "semi-retired" position (back seat) in my truck! I've even used it already to install an 1.2M Okemo 5000!
Now my question:
I have the SatHawk 3000 with the ver. 5.1.7 firmware
I have only had it a couple of weeks.
When it first arrived it was dead - needed charging - which went along fine, with-in 10 hours meter was up and running and impressive!
It's been riding around in my truck for a while now, and been used on SEVERAL installs, the battery shows a 78% charge.
When I plug in the charger (either auto or wall) the meter does NOT respond, i.e.: It does NOT show any charge taking place.
Is there a set point that the SatHawk 3000 battery must reach (drain down level%) before the charger will work?
