Connecting your BIRDOG / SatHawk to a USB port

Some computers and most laptops don't have a serial port to connect your BIRDOG or SatHawk 3000 signal meter. You can use a USB-to-Serial converter.

    Connectivity issue!

    Hello,

I purchased this adapter with my birdog, when I attempted to use it, the meter showed it was in the program mode but the pc never "loaded" the drivers it was scanning for.

I connected to a different pc with a serial port and transfer completed flawlessly, downloaded Middle Eastern birds data, as I'm currently working in Northern Iraq.

Please advise on how to resolve the conflict using the USB adapter.

    Thank you in advance

    1. Make sure you install the USB driver (included with adapter) correctly in your PC / Laptop before connecting the adapater.
    2. Connect the adapter.
    3. Make sure you select the correct COM port when you use the loader program for the BIRDOG.
    4. Check the Control Panel > system > Device Drivers for correct com port settings for the adapter.

    Thank you.

Thank you for your reply sir,

I don't recall a disk of any type when I received by adapter. I was packing in preperation for my trip!

It will not be possible for me to double check as I am now in Iraq, no longer at home where I had the order shipped to.

Could you PM or email an attachment copy of the driver.

My invoice number from Sadoun is: 9721397

Thank you in advance for your reply.
