I get nothing on my Lifetime Ultra set-up.

The last signal I had on my FTA equipment was the Dish TV screen that came busting in when I was set-up to receive Gal 10. So I purchased a SatHawk Finder to make it easy. I get nothing with the SatHawk. So I had two trees removed from my southern view and still got nothing. I then installed a defunct DirectV dish on my roof and the SatHawk Found Sat immediately. I then reinstalled my Lifetime Ultra and 36 inch Dish with rotor on a pole in my yard so I don't need to work on a ladder as before. That is much easier for a 87 year old playboy. so, take a guess. That's right I still get nothing other than 40 to 50 signal strength and no quality.
I am wondering if my dual LNB is functioning. I tried to get help at Sadoun and called them on my nickle but got tired holding to talk to Jamal or anyone for tech help. I called again on my nickle and was put on hold to lisen to some pretty good music so when I got tired of the music I hung up and tried their 888 number and was told that I was talking to sales but they would have Jamal give me a call. That hasn't happened as yet but he is a nice guy so maybe he will call me. Anyone else have any ideas to give me that might solve my delemma.

The only tip/suggestion I can give you is ... Directv/Dish Network signal is much much stronger than any other ku signal. They are alot easier to tune in.

You have to keep in mind that signal beam is rather narrow and if you are half an inch East/West or up/Down it can make a whole world of difference.

THe way I do it when in doubt, I select an active frequency on the satellite I am trying to get (or on your Signal Meter). Point the dish in the direction you think the satellite is. Slowly move the dish up/down. If you don't get anything move the dish left or right in very small increments (1/2" or even less) and repeat moving it up/down. Keep doing it until you get a signal. Once you get a signal try adjusting elevation or azimuth just a little to peak the signal (get the strongest quality possible).

Hope that helps.

Almost everyone has been in your shoes trying to find a FTA satellite. Heck, when I begun, I didn't know I had to actually put the dish up on the pole and I found my self aiming my dish towards the sky with my bare hands trying to find a signal.. LOL.. still can't believe it has been 2 years and now I feel like an expert.

To get the signal, you have to nail everything. From the pole to being perfectly straight and stable, to getting all your calculations right. Make sure you have a good compass. Tell us your zip and tell us some calculations you have made. It takes a lot of patience and small movements almost by the millimeters.

Thanx for your replies to my problems. Yesterday I finally got Gal10 with
80 strength and 12 Quality. I downloaded the FTA and ended up with one program. The rest wouldn't download. I got the connection by fooling with the USALS and 1.2 When it popped in I almost fainted!!! I couldn't get it back this morning so I went to my Dish with my SatHawk and got nothing except it did find a satellite that I didn't want. I live near Weekie Wachee, Fla and I got rained out today after getting my rearend wet from the lawn chair I use to rest my weary bones. I don't understand the SatHawk Finder as it finds sats that are not wanted but can't find the one that is chosen. Crazy, ain't it!!!!! When I am up and running I use 1.2 rather than USALS as I can tune my signals with 1.2 but now I can run 1.2 east and west with no results. I wonder if my receiver is polluted like Tampa Bay?

Bob
