My new SatHawk finder refuses to "Found Sat"

I have been trying diligently to get my new finder to find any satellite. I have tried to get Dish TV 105 that pus out a signal you could walk on and my SatHawk ignores it when it shows 99 signal strength and no quality. My Dish is only accessible by way of a ladder so it is tough on an old man. I purchased the meter to help me but it has done nothing thus far. Can anyone tell me why it won't FIND? What a frustrating experience. Jamal said this would be a great hobby for me. He made the under statement
of the year!!! My SatHawk locks up when it feels like it!!!

Is it just the 105 satellite or you are experiencing the same issue with other satellites? It could be that the datafile needs to be updated for 105 satellite.

Have you completed htis form: http://sathawk.tv/New-Satellite-Form.htm

I had similar questions:

1) Is there a minimal signal strength necessart for the "satellite found" to show up? I have a QUAD LNB dish and, although I get reception from Anik E2 and F1, I only get a satellite found for E2.

2) If you get a high signal strengh and low picture quality with a "satellite found", I think you do the calibration like it says in the manual?

Tomorow my tree trimmer will be here to trim my oak trees so I will open up my southern exposure. I have worn my fingers out working with the SatHawk finder and have yet to find any satellite. I have been considering going to my friends home across town and hooking onto his Dish Network antenna to see if my SatHawk will find his satellite. Does that make any sense? I am not a pro just and old guy trying to see what's up there!!!!

I will post further info as it unfurls.

Bob
