new2sathawk

Hello
I couple of questions for anyone familiar with satHawk

I have found bell 91 no problem and have configured and navigated around fine but - the instructions say that SatHawk meter will remember its last setting and will reboot to that setting.

I am hoping that this means there is a way to have it reboot to the sat listing that I want most often because it seems to be defaulting to dishpro.

Also it would be handy to delete the sats that I will seldom or never need.

Holding down the mode button and scrolling thru 7 sats every time I point is going to be a pain!

So my questions are - How can I get it to reboot to my sat of choice?
and
Can I delete the sats I do not want or are there partial (custom made) sat lists available that I can just load into the SatHawk?

Thanks in advance

Stu

Maybe Sadoun can make a "most common satellites" data file list for the SatHawk. What satellites do you like to see on the list?

I like to see
Telstar 5
Galaxy 10R
Dish Network
DirecTV

You can add to the list

I believe that is how the meter operates; my Birdog is the same way. Its not that much of a pain to scroll through the satellites. Of course, the fewer satellites you have in your list the quicker it is to get to the one you want. Or, when you configure your list, put the satellite you find most as the first one; then the meter will default to that satellite as soon as you turn the meter on.

configure list

Hey - I think this can be a part of my question and sort of already is

Can I configure the list to start with the one I point most and so on thru . .

This would effectively solve my problem - but it keeps booting to DN which I seldom point

Thanks for this but still need more help

Stu

Not sure about the Sathawk but with the Birdog you can configure the list in any order you want; 1 or 30 satellites.

yup

Yup

I noticed that - had one in hand a while back - went with the SatHawk cuz I liked the case and general description better.

Also thought I would have similar or identical features.

So. . I still need a SatHawk expert to tell me yes or no I can configure sats and boot up settings.

Thanks

Stu

You can pick and choose what satellites you can load to the SatHawk. Check the latest updates on www.sathawk.tv The latest version (V 3.0) is now devided in 3 files. A full version and mini versions.

Check it out and see if the satellites you want are in the mini version as listed below.

Looks Great

Assuming the order the sats boot in is the same as the list the Canada list looks great!

I will load it up soon.

Nice job putting this together whoever did it and thanks for the heads up NSat

You are welcome. Note, you can go up the list or down the list by clicking on the MODE and Up (or Down) arrow button.

Once you reach the satellite and to switch between Horizontal and Vertical, you can use Up or Down arrow buttons alone without the MODE button.

Yup

Yup - I think I have the procedure figured out - I am very glad to not have to scroll thru all the ones I never use.

BTW it seems to have loaded fine and booted to 82 - Great for me!

All we need now is digicypher ll

Thanks again

Stu

The SatHawk 3000 is a nice tool.

For the C-Band satellites, follow the procedure listed in the "Change Log and Tips" file for V3.0 listed here: http://sathawk.tv/Downloads.htm

nother question

I was looking for 10R today and could not even get a flicker - I know where DN 119 is so I was in the neighbourhood for sure.

I had a lot of options and was not sure which I should have been using.

I was looking for the FTA channels with a KU Lnb.
I basically tried all the settings and got nothing but was wondering which setting was the correct one.
It was cloudy too and I am in a weak signal zone - had a full 30 " pan though so expected to get something. .

Let me know - and I appreciate being spoon fed so far - Thanks again.

If you are using a UNIVERSAL KU band LNBF, use the [u], otherwise use the KV or KH. If you have a DSS/DBS lnbf, it will not work for G10R.
