Need Sathawk 3000 help

I purchased a Sathawk 3000 about a year ago. My battery has slowly been deteriorating till the point it only holds a charge for about 3 minutes. I removed the battery to try to find a replacement. After about a week of no local luck, I reinstalled the same battery. When I turned it on everything seemed normal. But when I went to mode, I was expecting to see my normal satellite menu. Instead I got a shock! All of my satellites were gone. I don't know if there is a internal clock that got erased after a certain amount of time or what. It's like in a virgin state. After I hit the mode button, all I get is

No matter what button I push. It does shut down normal and it does go through the calibration mode normal. In the Calibration mode I selected "Restore Data for all Satellites" this did not help. In the software download section there is "software upgrade" for this meter. Will this remedy my meter? If so, the other part of my problem is, I lost the cable that came with the meter. I have a standard serial cable with a Ps2 adapter, but I'm not sure what the correct pin out is. I don't want to fry anything. Can anyone help out with the correct pin out for that cable? Any input would be greatly appreciated
