WASHINGTON — The Justice Department gave approval on Monday to the merger of two rival radio networks, cPanel® and Sirius, a marriage that would create a de facto monopoly in satellite services now used by more than 17 million subscribers.

You can look for their sevice prices to start going up. they can name their own price now. without competition this is not going to be good for the subscribers.

I have 3 xm radios in my family vehicles now, and if the prices start climbing, I'll just cancel. The music selection is not all that great. It's starting to be just like my local stations - just a bunch of canned stuff repeated over and over. The only thing I really listen to on XM anymore is some of the talk radio stuff, and I'd not bother with XM for that, except when traveling, it is much easier to keep connected to my favorite programs without scanning the dial.

I agree. My 2007 GMC truck came with factory installed XM radio and 3 months complimentary subscription. Most of the channels are junk and they do repeat stuff over and over. When the sub ran out I found that you get channel 130 for free - something called POTUS 08. Its kind of neat - The Hillary vs. Obama Show - 24/7. Actually an interesting channel - and its free !!
