Pointing iDirect in Iraq

We are attempting to point a 1.8 m dish in Iraq. Our GPS is N 33.2091 X E 44.51083.

The satellite is at Long. 54.85. The satellite was already pointed at this satellite but at a higher Freq. We are attempting to reach it on transponder 1596665000. When we place the old option file in we get 15 v. But when we replace it with ours we only get .3 volts.

we normally get between 18 to 19 volts. I don't understand why we can't see our transponder. this used to be the site of a nuclear reactor.

We have replaced the LNB, cables, and modem. We are stumped.

Sorry.... I don't know anything at all about the specific system you're trying to set up, however I'm curious what satellite you're trying to hit? The frequency you're listing above seems to be in the L-band, near where the INMARSATs used to be used for telephone and other services, however I thought that all the modern internet type services used Ku satellites?
Is it really an L band sat you're trying to hit, or is there a missing digit in the frequency?

we connecting to ISS702. Yes we are using the L band to connect but the modem coverts it to KU.

The freq I listed are taken directly for the OPT file that configures the mdm. The fact that I can load the old firmware and old OPT file and pick up on the satellite but when I load the new firmware and OPT file I only get .3 volts.

I have used the same firmware on 10 other sites so I don't think it is that. I have also attempted to use three different LNB and three different mdm and the all do the same thing. This is blowing my mind. I don't understand what is happening here.

I think you are referring to Intelsat 702, which is pretty close to the location you mention. I think ISS sats are generally things that are related to the space station, such as debris, etc.

Anyway, it sounds like your problem must be related to your specific hardware, and I have no idea about that. Hopefully someone else will, but I'm not optimistic.

Do you have the necessary equipment to check the spectrum for interference? It would seem that if you know that all of the parts are good, and you have some results reading another frequency that maybe something is interfering with the frequency that you're targeting. I doubt it since your l-band frequencies can't be that far apart, and you should see the interference on all frequencies (although you DID indicate a lower than normal power reading on your previous setting). Being that you're on a nuclear reactor site in a less regulated country, who knows what might be radiating through your cables and causing interference!
