PcketDish AV500e Portable Media Player

Hi All

As you all know, we sell the PocketDish line of PMP devices.

At my house, the kids use the PocketDish AV700e (the 7" screen version) and I use the PocketDiSH AV500e (4" version). Here I am going to comment on the one I use.

In a recent trip I decided to get and use a PocketDiSH AV500e for my inflight entertainment. I unpacked the unit from its retail box, read the intstructions. The menu and screens are easy to navigate.

Since we have a VIP622 DVR receiver at home, the PocketDish works nicely with this receiver. All you have to do is connect the PD to the USB 2.0 front outlet on the VIP622 receiver.

Hit the DVR button on the VIP's remote and follow the step by step instructions on how move the stored content from the VIP to the PD. Only SD content can be copied to the PD. HD content is not supported.

The picture quality of the PocketDiSH AV500e is very bright and sharp. For a moment I thought I was watching HDTV on this unit. Not quite, but close.

I like the easy navigation and capability of the unit. I have watched around 3 hours of video on it and the battery was still strong.

I would highly recommend this device to any traveller, RV users, Camper, outdoor hobbiests, soldier, and more.

Since you can also record video to this PD from any SD video source (i.e. camcorders, VCRs, etcs), the possibilities are endless.
