Want to get a Fta system

Hello everyone: I want to learn more about FTA systems. I understand there is lots of birds out in space that transmit free of charge signals. But one thing I notice is that most of the free channels you get are news, and channels from china Arab etc. And most of those are imformal channels. What about movies and sports events ppv hbo show time etc. Can this systems recive this signals. Im into boxing, Movies etc. I found some of the stuff on the FTA borring. Please correct me if Im wrong like I said Im totally new to this and dont know much about it. I hope Im wrong! I want to get a Fta system but first I want to hear from the people with expirience. I hope I dont make anybody mad. Im sorry If I did. Just want to learn. Thanks

There are a lot of wild feed sports channels they are there when the event is going on,there are several movie channels that come and go most are on c band so you would need a big dish for those also would recommend a Hi def receiver like the Sathawk PVR 800.

So where is the good stuff on C band or ku? I dont have alot of space in my yard for a 72 inch dish maybe on the roof but I dont know if the the old folks from the neighbohood will complain about it. I rather keep small for now. Can I still get some good stuff with a small dish maybe around the 40 inch or so?

I had to recharge my hover-around to get to the computer.lol I enjoy the old shows keep them coming. There is something on FTA for everyone. You just have to look around what on and when. I also like watching the news of Al Jazeera in English which is on Galaxy 19 97.0W KuBand and Intelsat 9 58.0W Cband. Press Tv is a great news outlet. The Pentagon Channel on AMC1 has some great shows. I like the old military moves SAC.
