mc-t fta motorized c/ku choice set

Is this package a good deal? Will i be able to get all of the fta c-band channels? Is it easy to set up? Is the dual lnbf a good product? What is the difference between bsc21 and bsc21-2? Will i be able to get satellite W5 and use a dsr 410 receiver to subscribe to skyvision packages? Let me know what you think. thanks JAK327

It is a good package for C-band. It is probably the least expensive way to get C-band anywhere. And, no, it is not an easy setup. It is not as easy as setting up a small Ku dish. You will need a lot of patience and put it together systematically. Have you checked the line of sight of the arc on your property? Also, you will need to mount a good strong 2 1/2" schedule 40 pole in concrete, 3 ft. into the ground.

The 621 is standard, and the 621-2 is universal. I don't know which is required for W5 sat and Skyvision. For a DSR922 receiver, I think the standard is the way to go.
VA 39N, 78W, Mercury II, Fortec 31", 36", 72", SG2100, DG-280, H180 (two DSR-922's sitting in a closet and to be the next project) HDTV TV with no pay tv.

the 920 will move a big dish your best bet is to get a ribbon cabe it has 2 rg6 cables and the wires for the actuator and servo.

You will need two wires for power and two wires for the controling signal to move the motor, in addition to the coax cables.

This is what I put in a 1-1/2" pvc conduit 5" below the ground to my pole mount: 3 coax (spares for future), one ganged wire of 5 (qty.) 18ga. wires running 150 ft. I checked the gauge with an electrical engineer friend of mine who stated the 18 ga. would work but be at its limit. I think 16 ga. would have been ideal. I can post the calculations if you like.

I have heard of some people just using telephone wire for the signal wire, but the 18 ga. does just fine for that.

This is easier to obtain than ribbon cable, but the advantage of ribbon cable, I think, is that you can bury it without conduit.
    Rainman, is that correct?

Some people like to use electric wire that can be direct burried, like coax cable that can be direct burried. But I think that is limited to 12 ga. I suppose I would have done better to use 14 ga for the power... but didn't. It would have put less wear and tear on the wire itself.

    good luck.
