Cband LNB

I am looking for the best Cband LNB, strong enough to get most of the channels around. Some recomend 13 degrees. What is your suggestion?

if you are using a co rotor feed horn go with the norsat lnbs hard to beat.

more importantly is the receiver and dish you are using.

Most typical FTA receivers cannot control a co-rotor.

What equipment are you planning to use with this C band LNB?

I am tyring to use a Fortec Mercury II receiver with a 10' mesh antenna, but how about the degrees: 13, 15, 17??? Thanks.

Well - how do you plan to rotate the H and V signals with your Merc II?

The degrees value can be a scam. Dont put much faith in differences between 13 15 and 17. They will work the same.

I agree with PMB don't pay much attention to degrees check for a lo noise figure 1 Mhz or less. as for the Mercury you will need a LNBF that is a lnb and feed horn all in one that polarity is swiched by voltage a lot of people use the bsc-621 models.

IMO the bsc621 LNBFs are FAR from the best. Mediocre would be a better description, but junk would be the best description.

The BEST for your scenario would probably be some good norsats on a c-band orthomode feedhorn with a good quality powered multiswitch. If you don't want to use an orthomode feedhorn with the norsats, then you might wait a month or two for the new vbox that is supposedly coming out which will control a standard co-rotor for polarity - which, if you're only going to use one receiver, may be cheaper since you'd only need one norsat lnb instead of 2.

maybe so, but I can watch a lot of TV for 50 bux with a BSC621.

It's gonna be a good buck for all the stuff you mentioned. Nothing wrong with that at all. It does help to work with the best of equipment, and I know from experience that 621 can be a PITA.

yeah, but he asked for the best... even one of the bsc c-band only lnbs is better than the c/ku... but the best is DEFINITELY not the bsc621

I have already tried that BSC621-2 and didn't work much. All I want for now is to change the old one which is not working the same as before. I also would't mind to try that Vbox that is coming. Thanks.

I went with the BSC621 because I need C and Ku. I had an ortho-feed, but the Ku needs a rotor. Does anyone have an ortho Ku?

Chaparral makes the Bullseye II that is a dual orthomode c-band and orthomode ku-band lnb.
