    Invacom LNB

I just installed a Invacom LNB (0.3 dB) to my M1 system I got from Sadoun. Sad to say, but it does not perform any better than the original Universal LNB (0.4 dB) . I was hoping to get more signal strength and quality. I guess 0.1 dB doesn't make any difference.

I'm curious by what measure do you compare the two? I don't know if the Invacom is really any better, and I don't really trust any of those dB ratings anyway, however if you're expecting a higher signal strength, then that wouldn't be expected. In fact, when I've gone to a lower dB rated lnb, usually I've seen less signal strength. What the lower dB rating should really do is give you a lower signal reading when you're not aimed at a sat, and give you a higher signal to noise ratio, and hopefully give you a better quality reading. Also, you may expect to see reception on a very few borderline weak signals, but otherwise you really shouldn't expect a whole log of difference.
I replaced one of the generic Sadoun lnbfs with an Invacom too, and likewise didn't see any improvement in signal level, however the Invacom was a lot more stable, frequency wise. I do think in general it's a better lnbf. But it's still a low cost consumer lnbf. Not really a big step up.

Simple experiment. At the satellite menu page, I noted the signal strength with the old Universal LNB. Turn off the receiver. Switched out the LNB with the new Invacom. Turned on the receiver and checked the signal strength again. I tried skewing it a little, but it made it worse.
