Your true south sat is the one closest to your longitude. Since you're at 82, then that would be Nimiq2. You could also use AMC9 at 83 deg. No C-band near there, and no 24/7 FTA, but there are a couple digital Ku transponders to lock onto that you can use for alignment. I'd use the 12224 transponder on Nimiq2 or one of the Hughesnet transponders on AMC9.
With that motor, the main thing you are trying to do with a due south satellite, is to set your motor elevation. You don't need to actually view any channels. I also wouldn't bother even saving the sat position until after you've peaked on a western sat.
Ill go out and check it out now thank you
Ill go out and check it out now thank you I found a sat but how can i really tell its the right one Nimig2 no 12224 just 12223 i only have 45 quality also.

on the 1st sat i seem to get alot of religious channels and it says europe latin canada etc.what sat is this
I can't go there now to check, since dish is on another sat. Last time I was on Nimiq, the Lyngsat lineup seemed to be way out of date, but I do see that they listed at least one religious channel on that transponder. Only other thing it could be would be the other Nimiq though.
i understand. That seems to be most of my channels is religious ones. How do i tune all my other sats in with a V-box?or should i still turn it by hand to find some other ones
After you get the south sat peaked, you need to peak a sat far to your west, by running the motor manually, and after finding it, by turning the whole mount on the pole by very small amounts, followed by moving back and forth manually with motor to peak. This can sometimes be difficult if your south orientation is off by much, but sometimes you can go one sat at a time to the west. But after you've found, and peaked on a west sat, I think that motor only takes DiseqC 1.2 commands, so just find one sat at a time manually stepping the motor until you find each sat, then save each sat position onto the motor. I don't think you can use USALS with that motor.
