I recently purchased a brand new system that includes the following parts:
~ Fortec Star Lifetime CLASSIC NA FTA Digital satellite receiver
~ Satcontrol SM3D12 Motor
~ 31" FS80P Dish
~ Universal 0.4dB Single KU LNBF
The problem I am having is in regards to the Fortec receiver powering the motor to move the dish. I have been able to get the receiver to move (ref) the motor to zero while it is attached to a small piece (2 ft) of RG6 wire before it was installed on the house. It is now mounted on the house and I cannot get the motor to move. It is connected with appx. 30 ft. of RG6 cable. I even connected it with a different RG11 run of appx. 35-40 ft and still no movement.
Are there any setting on the Fortec Classic NA that would be needed to control a motor with a longer run of cable (ie. voltage or power setting)? Do you think it is a receiver, cable or motor issue? Are there any built in test procedures to see if the receiver is communicating with the antenna/motor?
Thanks for your assistance.
Todd
just a thought check your antena setup and see if the positioner is turned on.
